Nothing But The Beat

I was listening to you spin on repeat, it’s cryptic. Your rhythm never convulsed me like your words do but at least it maintains its accuracy. You held me in crippled arms and drew me in like the curtains we should’ve closed. Your plants need sunlight just like I needed some light. Curtains drawn. I munch on dark chocolate for breakfast because I guess I was too bitter for you to eat, so you regift myself to me. I swell up in your beats and you are hidden in a loop somewhere. I’m searching for the petal-like softness in your kiss but all I found was an abrasion in your disk. Chocolate melts. We blink from opposing sides and record our intimacies. You said you’ll send the track to me. I’m still waiting for the download link.
